At AssureCare, we leverage the power of insightful data to drive exceptional healthcare services, and hence we are currently seeking an experienced Certified Professional Coder (CPC) specializing in Internal Medicine (Family Health/Family Medicine) to provide this critical insight daily.

The Certified Professional Coder (CPC) in Internal Medicine (Family Health/Family Medicine) will be responsible for accurately coding medical diagnoses and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting appropriate reimbursement for services provided.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical coding, particularly in family health and family medicine, with a proven ability to apply coding guidelines accurately to ensure optimal reimbursement and compliance. The following is a detailed job description for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to diagnoses, procedures, and treatments for family health, family medicine, and internal medicine specialties.
  • Analyse patient charts and SOAP notes to ensure coding aligns with clinical documentation.
  • Prepare and submit clean claims for insurance reimbursement.
  • Resolve claim denials related to coding errors or medical necessity and maintain records of re submissions and appeals.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific coding guidelines.
  • Act as a liaison between healthcare providers, billing teams, and insurance companies.
  • Generate and analyse coding-related reports, including productivity, revenue, and denial trend.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, payer-specific rules, and internal guidelines.
  • Assist in internal or external coding audits and implement corrective actions as required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential
  • Must have minimum 2 years of professional coding experience in an internal medicine or family medicine setting.
  • Proficient in medical coding software, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaison with providers, clearing houses, insurance companies, patients, and internal departments.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
  • Ready to work in 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM IST shift.

Additional Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in health information systems or related field.
